Branding and Web design for Photographer Liron Erel
Earlier this year, I had the pleasure of working with photographer Liron Erel on his branding and website. Liron’s work is so cinematic and absolutely beautiful, and I was honored by the opportunity to build his brand world.
Liron captures weddings around California, New York, and beyond, travelling to Mallorca, France, and Greece. His work has been featured in New York Times Magazine, Brides, Town & Country, and more.
He enjoys the beauty of finding little imperfections in a wedding, and I adore the details he captures. They’re such nostalgic moments in time, from guests on a Châteaux balcony flinging up their arms, to people swimming, laughing, drinking, and moving.
I wanted to carry that nostalgic feeling through to the brand identity, bringing a warm, lived-in quality. It’s soft and minimal with an almost European vibe, feeling like it could belong to the Riviera, but it’s not overly clean. The font is rounded yet has a bold uppercase style which brings and authoritative feel to the wordmark.
Liron’s photography sits between documentary and editorial and brings humanity and personality through movement, humour, and imperfection. We kept the branding simple so it wouldn’t distract from the images, but retained the brand’s tension between beauty and chaos.
The website was designed and developed in-house using Squarespace 7.1. I curated and sequenced Liron’s imagery, putting beauty and disorder alongside one another. It unfolds unexpectedly, with editorial poised images and candid moments sitting side-by-side.
Liron wanted the images to feel cinematic, like traversing an immersive experience where you’re enveloped in the imagery, almost like flipping through a magazine. Interweaved are moments of Liron’s voice, which we kept his own voice so the copy feels like a personal conversation with him, along with his signature, which brings human warmth and a touch of the hand.
